The 3-12×56 first focal plane optic is part of Docter's "Classic" series and is characterised by being an excellent choice for hunting in general, whether on the move or stalking. This adaptability allows it to cover any possible hunting situation.
The high optical quality, combined with front lenses of increasingly generous diameter as the magnification increases, guarantees excellent vision even in conditions of limited ambient light; thus, taking advantage of the early morning light will not become a problem. The image rendition through the crystals is therefore sharp and unaffected, no matter what the time of day or environmental situation. The Docter Multitop anti-reflective treatment prevents light reflections from the lens that can highlight the shooter's position at a distance.
A further plus point is the presence of an adjustment ring at the eyepiece, which makes it possible to compensate for visual defects of up to +/- 2.5 diopters.
From a construction point of view, the optics are based on a 30 mm tube made of aeronautical aluminium for robustness, while the surface finish is black anodised. Thanks to the presence of pressurised nitrogen inside the optic, mechanical reliability can be tested in any environment and weather condition. Thanks also to this feature, the risk of dust, vapour and condensation ingress is truly minimised. This attention to detail can be particularly appreciated when changing the magnification: in addition to being extremely precise and silent, it can be done without jerks that disturb observation. The sharp and easily perceptible 'clicks' allow rapid, faithful and intuitive turret calibration.
