Liemke's Luchs-2 thermal imaging camera is the pro for night hunting over long distances. The new reference model offers a detection range of 2.5 km and an extra-large lens with a diameter of 50 millimetres.
The integrated vanadium oxide thermal imaging detector features a high-resolution chip that allows even the animal's joints to be precisely visualised. The screen has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels in high definition and uses OLED technology, which can transmit colours particularly vividly and with high contrast. In addition, there are no annoying grey veils in the areas that do not emit light and darkness (black) is actually reproduced as black.
The internal battery has an operating time of 6.5 to 9 hours and can be recharged via the USB port. If the operating time is not sufficient, an external power bank can also be used.
The device requires only a single initial set-up; all subsequent start-ups only take about 5 seconds.
The operating concept is extremely simple, as the settings are self-administered. The robust and compact aluminium alloy housing has been tested to withstand the most intensive use, while the switches and controls are clearly visible and can be felt by touch even when wearing gloves.
During production, care was also taken to minimise the mechanical noise generated by the camera as much as possible, placing special emphasis on the design of a silent shutter.
Up to four mobile phones and/or tablets can be connected to the device to follow the live observation. In addition, there is a built-in video recorder that can record photos and videos. With 32 GB of memory, the Luchs-2 offers plenty of space to save countless images and hours of video.
