The Atlas Action is a Remington semi-clone action, featuring a side bolt release and trigger hanger. This action can be easily installed on any Remington 700/40x stock or chassis system with minimal modifications. The Atlas is built with extreme tolerances unheard of in a standard Remington action. The rear base is on the same plane as the front base, ensuring precise optics alignment.
Manufactured from 416RS steel, this action is highly durable and reliable. The bolt, crafted in-house, is made from 4140 alloy steel. The action is designed to accept AICS magazine boxes, and special cut-outs can be requested for .223 and .222 cartridges. All Atlas actions feature a 2-pin recoil lug, reducing the risk of binding when switching barrels. Available options include single-shot or magazine configurations, fluted bolts, TG or Remington ejectors, and short or long action lengths. A pinned 20 MOA Picatinny 1913 MIL-SPEC rail is also available.

When chambering a barrel for Panda, Kodiak, or Grizzly actions, cut the tenon to a diameter of 1.0625” and a length of 1.115” for a cone bolt action or 0.980” for a flat bolt action. For an Atlas barrel, cut the tenon to a diameter of 1.0625” and a length of 0.692” for a cone bolt action or 0.557” for a flat bolt action. It is recommended to turn the first 0.110” from the rear of the barrel to a diameter of 0.966”, leaving the rear end of the barrel square for now.
Thread the tenon 1.0625 inches in diameter with 18 threads per inch. When using the three-wire method to measure the threads, the measurement should be 1.0715” with a tolerance of +0.0000” / -0.0020” using 0.032” wires.
Cone bolt action: Run the chambering reamer in until the headspace gauge is flush with the rear of the barrel to achieve zero headspace.
Flat bolt action: Run the chambering reamer in until the measurement from the base of the headspace gauge to the shoulder of the barrel is 1.115” for Panda, Kodiak, and Grizzly actions, or 0.692” for Atlas actions.
Cutting the cone for cone bolt actions: Set the compound feed of the lathe to 30 degrees. Touch the chamber edge with the tool, and lock the zeroed saddle stop against the saddle. Then, back off the stop 0.135”. Use only the compound feed to cut the cone, leaving approximately 0.007” – 0.010” of space between the bolt and the barrel.
Note for .338 Lapua Magnum barrels: Cutting the cone may shorten the barrel length. In this case, the tenon length will be closer to 1.089”, with a rear section diameter of 0.966”.
