Did the adapter on your Proof-Positive Bore Stix get damaged? Don’t worry!

All Proof-Positive Bore Stix feature a REPLACEABLE, barrel safe, non-brass, Proof-Positive tip – Also known as an “Adapter”. Be sure to select the correct tip as the Proof-Positive & Brass adapters are not cross compatible between the Bore Stix and V-Stix lines.

The package contains 1 adapter per pack with 8/32 thread pitch

Removal/Installation:

1.    Using a small heat source such as a lighter, hold the flame in the center of the adapter for approximately 15-20 seconds to release the red Loctite.

2.    While holding the cleaning rod body in one hand, carefully unscrew broken adapter.

TIP: If you have to grab the rod body with pliers/vise, be sure to pad the jaws or you will damage the rod coating. Keep in mind that the original adapter may be hot to the touch.

3.    Clean the rod body threads and then apply 1 drop of red Loctite.

4.    Install new adapter and let sit for approximately 10 minutes to cure.
