Founded in 1897 by Romualdo Borletti, the Borletti company began by producing clocks and precision instruments. During World War I, the company shifted to military production, later diversifying into precision mechanics, manufacturing watches, car tools, sewing machines, and measuring instruments. Borletti is well-known for acquiring Veglia in 1930, supplying measurement devices to prestigious automotive brands such as Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat, and Ferrari. In the 1980s, Borletti was acquired by Magneti Marelli, continuing to stand out for the quality and reliability of its products in the automotive and measuring instrument sectors​
