The true versatility of the Kestrel 5500 becomes evident with the addition of the Kestrel Rotating Windvane Mount (not included). This precision-engineered accessory allows the Kestrel 5500 to be securely mounted to any tripod or other bracket with a ¼-20 thread. Once mounted, the Kestrel 5500 becomes a fully functional weather station, with the large windvane and precision pivot keeping the Kestrel pointed into the wind for continuous measurement and recording of wind speed, direction, and all other key weather parameters.
