To preserve a gun's barrel over time, it's essential to clean it properly with quality products.
In this article, I'll explain how to clean the barrel of a target or hunting rifle using products from the American company BoreTech.
The products we'll be using are the following:
C4 Carbon Remover (solvent for removing carbon residue);
Cu+2 Copper Remover (solvent for removing copper residue);
Nylon brushes;
Bronze brushes;
Jag or more commonly, patch pusher;
Patches; Rod;
Rod guide;
Action Cleaning Tool Set Extreme Grease (grease syringe)
Cleaning bench;
PROCEDURE:
Cleaning the barrel
Make sure the rifle is unloaded, then place a cloth on the stock to avoid getting dirty;
1 cloth soaked in C4 Carbon Remover, repeat 3 times, making sure to change the cloth after each pass;
10 passes with the bronze brush soaked in C4 Carbon Remover and wait 2 minutes;
1 cloth soaked in C4 Carbon Remover, repeat 3 times, making sure to change the cloth after each pass;
1 dry cloth, repeat twice, making sure to change the cloth after each pass;
10 passes with the nylon brush soaked in Cu+2 Copper Remover and wait 15 minutes;
1 cloth soaked in Cu+2 Copper Remover and wait 2 minutes;
1 dry cloth and repeat 3 times, making sure to change the cloth after each pass;
10 passes with the bronze brush soaked in C4 Carbon Remover;
1 patch soaked in C4 Carbon Remover and repeat 4 times, making sure to change the patch after each pass;
1 dry patch and repeat 2 times, making sure to change the patch after each pass;
Cleaning the cartridge chamber
Using the Action Cleaning Tool and the Chamber Mop (wool brush), perform 4-5 turns inside the chamber;
To clean the lug recess (rear part of the lugs), use the Action Wiper and 1 patch, performing 4-5 turns;
Lubricate the bolt lugs with Extreme Grease.

N.B. It is recommended to clean the barrel approximately every 50 rounds.
